One More Score
Got this today for $.50 at St. Vinny's and just had to share. A little shy of 6"x9"—6" x 8-3/4"— but I think we can work with that! Just love the illustrations. 60 pages/15 spreads.Originally from 1955 but reprinted in 1973.
Recent Finds
Looking for old papers and books to recycle into art. Here are a few things I found at the Friends Of The Library Bookshop.
A Children's Workbook from 1976 with fun exercises. There were two of them and I snagged
both for $.25 each. Full page size including perf area is 12" x 18."
A 9" x 12" pamphlet on how to make flavored vinegars. Free.
This is a saddle-stitched book called Auricula Meretricula. It's in Latin with a glossary of words with the English translation. Printed on a nice cream laid stock. Simple but elegant type design. It's a little big—7" x 11"—but it was so pretty I had to have it. And it was FREE!
And then I found this beautiful book of Mao Tsetung's poems printed in letterpress. Love the magenta cloth binding!
But then I saw it was a First Edition printed translation from 1976. I don't think it's particularly valuable but it feels it's too special to cut up. Got it for $1.00.
TOTAL: $1.50 for these scores
That's all for now. Keep on hunting!

Castlefranc Finds
Alors, je suis en France! First week here in the beautiful Lot Valley—c'est magnifique! Found two brocantes yesterday and here's what I got:
Two 45 RPM records with great 50's artwork — 1 euro for both
Cigarillo tin from Holland — 1 euro
Four " Lisez-Moi Aventures" magazines from 1948, 1949 (one of these is for you Lucie!) — 1 euro for all four
Various French stamps, some with town stamps on the envelope — 5 for 1 euro
(I'll be going back for more of these; there was a huge box of them. A little pricey but worth it I think.)
Book from 1936, "Quand J'Etais Montmartois" with some great illustrations on the first few pages and end papers — 1 euro
TOTAL — 5 euro ($6.65)
